Town Council bids for play cash
28/11/09, by Mike Walpole - Coleshill resident
Coleshill Town Council has bid for cash from NWBC to improve play facilities in the Memorial Park. Residents in town can also apply for cash for a scheme which fits the requirements of the green strategy, but will have to hurry - closing date is Monday 7th December 2009
The cash will come from £10,000 made available by the Borough Council to each Area Forum to help fund projects that deliver key priorities identified in the Green Space Strategy. They may be on land within the control of parish and town councils or other organisations or on land owned by the Borough Council.
Memorial Park Improvements
27/11/09 , by Mike Walpole, Coleshill resident
Work starts on 14 December on improving the millenium gardens in the Memorial Park, thanks to £6000 funding as a result of the hard work of the Better Welcome committee.
The gardens were laid out about 10 years ago.
Councillor Dominic Ferro, chairman of parks & cemeteries and responsible for the upkeep of the park has had numerous complaints about the state of the site - but when last year he and Cllr June Upton called via local papers for help to maintain them only three people offered.
The improvements will make it into a family friendly area.
